Aberdeen Society

The Aberdeen Chrysanthemum and dahlia Society was formed in 1956. A group of enthusiasts got together to form a specialist society. Only two of the original group are still growing chrysanthemums today.

Over the years the Society has had many venues for it's annual show. At one time the Aberdeen Music Hall, on Union Street in Aberdeen, was the venue. In recent years the show was held in the Town Hall in Stonehaven, some 20 miles south of Aberdeen. In 1999 the Show venue moved to the Scout Hall, South Avenue, Cults, Aberdeen. In 2003 the Show moved to the Community Hall in Peterculter, west of Aberdeen.

Details of show date and competition classes can be found on the Aberdeen Show page.

Stonehaven is a picturesque coastal town. This picture was taken from the south side of the town.

The Town Hall occupies a town centre position and is an ideal place for a flower show. This picture was taken from the stage looking over the benches of exhibition blooms and interested visitors.
