Information Centre - Classification Reviews & Changes

Every year the U.K. National Society carry out reviews of various cultivars to verify that they are correctly classified. This page gives information on some of the recent changes in classification for U.K. cultivars, it also includes details of cultivars under review. The definitive list of all changes is held by the U.K. National Society who should always be consulted on matters relating to classification changes.

Major News for 2008:
NCS-UK announce that Pink Splendour and Pink Champagne are no longer considered synonymous, Pink Champagne is now reinstated in the National Register.

World of Sport and sports now classified medium - a boost for growers of medium intermediates.

Chessington and Sports under review - potential reclassification to mediums! Make up your own mind on this one.

Major News for 2007:
NCS-UK announce that all registered cultivars of any classification may now be shown as sprays at appropriate shows i.e lates can only be shown as late sprays, Earlies can only be shown as Early Sprays, and mid-season (October) cultivars can be shown as either.
