Judging rules for reflexed continued ...

These slides were used to set the scene and remind ourselves of several important definitions.

Rules for Judging – extracts ……

“The most meritorious chrysanthemum bloom is one which displays Form, Size, Freshness and Colour in accordance with that which is recognised as ideal for the particular type and cultivar”.

“FORM means approved shape of bloom as specified for the particular type at its most perfect stage of development.”

Standards of Quality - Reflexed

“…. blooms should be nicely balanced in breadth and depth and circular when viewed from above……..”

Let's not forget that the basis for judging Reflexed is the points
system - Table A

Let's now consider one very important issue:

Given that 30% of points are allocated for FORM it seems sensible to conclude that:

Any exhibit of Reflexed in a high quality show ………
that does not score highly for FORM cannot expect to achieve Best in Show or other major award.

Is this reasonable?

The members present offered no disagreement with this statement.
