Novelty Report  2003

This page contains information on cultivars released in 2002 and 2003.

Joyce Frieda 13b Y, (Lawson/Woolmans 2002)
Second year of growing this cultivar, some plants were grown conventionally, two up in a 5 litre pot, others were grown on the break bud. Two good vases of five shown this year at Harrogate and Fife Garden Festival. A small bloom with
hard, crisp, petals and good incurving form. Appx 4ft at flowering time. No health issues. Still some stock selection to be done but worth persevering with again next year.
Alex Young, 25b Bronze (Woolmans 2003)
Bought in plants arrived early February and were stopped mid April.  Grown both two and three up, flowered during August, later blooms grown two up were larger and better form. Height appx 1.2 metres, large rounded leaves, deep red/brown stem. Lenghty neck below the bud. All blooms were double bagged.
Florence Pope, 25b White (Woolmans 2003)
