The RHS show is one the highlights in the Aberdeen horticultural calendar. A number of marquees are erected in the city's Duthie Park, these house the many horticultural exhibits during the two days of the show. In the chrysanthemum section the main class for three vases of large disbudded blooms was won by Werner Ley (Inverallochy), Werner exhibited three of the Chessington Family - Pimrose, Oyster and Apricot and was awarded the National Society Certificate of Merit. This year there were three entries in the class for three vases of three medium blooms, Paul Barlow (Aberdeen) was placed first with a entry of Kimberley Marie, Carlene Welby and Lorna Wood. Iain Gerrie (Stuartfield) was placed second with vases of Amber Matlock, Carlene Welby and Darlington Jubilee. Jim Craigen (Aberdeen) was third with Pink John Wingfield, Carlene Welby and Lorna Wood. Paul's entry in this class was judged Best Exhibit of Chrysanthemums and awarded the NCS Silver Medal. In the three vase Natural Spray class Doug Stewart (Aberdeen), exhibited Enbee Frill, Peach Frill and Salmon Frill to win the class. In the single vase classes Jim Craigen was successful with reflexed (Matlock) and Paul Barlow successful with Lorna Wood. The Best vase in Show and NCS Bronze Medal was awarded to Paul's 5 bloom mixed entry of Lorna Wood and Carlene Welby.
