The Aberdeen Championship for Large blooms requires three vases of five blooms in three cultivars. Two entries this year from Fraserburgh growers Tom Buchan and Dennis Morrice. Dennis was awarded the red card for his entry of Clapham Delight, Malcolm Perkins and Billy Bell withTom's entry of Emily Peace, Pearl Celebration and White sport in second place. Huntley grower Bill Angus brought just one vase to the show - he must have had a good felling about this because his excellent vase of Lynn Johnson was judged best vase in show and was awarded the NCS Silver Medal. The Aberdeen Champion of Mediums class requires three vases of five blooms in 3 cultivars. Just two entries this year and a repeat of last year's result. In first place Dave Macfarlane, (Fraserburgh), with vases of Woolley Globe, John Wingfield and Pink John Wingfield. In second place was Paul Barlow (Aberdeen) with John Wingfield and the pink and candy sports The Press and Journal Trophy class requires six vases of three blooms in at least four cultivars. Two entries this year, first from Paul Barlow taking the red card, consisting of Woolley Pride(2), Millennium, Cornetto, Carlene Welby, and Rosa Hockedy. One of the vases of Woolley Pride from this entry was judged best vase of three blooms in the show and awarded the NCS Bronze Medal. In the spray classes Doug Stewart (Aberdeen) won the class for three vases of Natural Sprays, and in the Exhibition sprays Arther Fisher was successful. In the local Growers class for three vases of three blooms Paul Barlow took the red card from three entries in the class, his winning entry consisted of Tracy Waller and Cherry sport plus Woolley Pride. In the two vase class (one vase large and one vase mediums) Donald Buchan was successful with Billy Bell and Kimberley Marie A selection of photographs from the show.
