A new venue for the show this year. The Village Hall Peterculter proved to be an excellent choice. The Aberdeen Championship for Large blooms requires three vases of five blooms in three cultivars. Only one entry this year from Tom Buchan with Emily Peace, Lynn Johnson and Apricot Courtier, the Lynn Johnson from this entry was judged best vase in show and was awarded the NCS Silver Medal. The Aberdeen Champion of Mediums class requires three vases of five blooms in 3 cultivars. Just two entries this year and a reversal of last year's result. In first place Dave Macfarlane, (Fraserburgh), with vases of Woolley Pride, Millennium and Purple Chempak Rose. This entry was judged best overall chrysanthemum exhibit. In second place was Paul Barlow (Aberdeen) with Kimberley Marie, Fiona Lynn and Lorna Wood. The Press and Journal Trophy class requires six vases of three blooms in at least four cultivars. Just one entry this year from Paul Barlow taking the red card for his entry consisting of Fiona Lynn, Cornetto, Hedley's Lynx, Joyce Frieda, Rosa Hockedy and Lorna Wood. In the spray classes Doug Stewart (Aberdeen) won the class for three vases of Natural Sprays, Donald Buchan was placed second in this class. In the local Growers class for three vases of three blooms Ray Barclay was successful and the Millennium from his entry was awarded the NCS Bronze medal for best vase of three blooms in show.
