Royal
Horticultural Society Aberdeen - 25/26th August
The RHS show is one the
highlights in the Aberdeen horticultural calendar, and takes place in Hazelhead Park to accommodate a much expanded show
and to provide improved and larger parking areas.
In the disbud classes local
grower Paul Barlow was successful in 3 vases of mediums (Red Chempak Rose,
Millennium and Chempak Rose), Jim Craigen (Cults) was placed second (Pink
John Wingfield, Lorna Wood, Yellow John Wingfield). Paul's entry was selected as Best
Exhibit and awarded the NCS Silver medal. In the Natural sprays Dennis
Morrice (Fraserburgh) was successful with Doug Stewart and Donald Buchan
2nd and 3rd respectively.
In the single vase classes
Paul Barlow exhibited a weighty vase of Lynn Johnson, while Jim Craigen
had some good Lorna Wood and Yellow John Wingfield.
Paul's vase of Chempak Rose was judged to be Best Vase in Show and awarded the NCS Bronze
