Yellow John Wingfield
Yellow John Wingfield

October classified medium, yellow reflexed. (14b Y)

Root: Late December/early January.

Blooms per plant: 2 for exhibition.

Height: 1.5 metres appx

Protection: overhead and bloom bags

A vigorous grower with quite large indented leaves.  Blooms are yellow with a tendency to 'bronze' under some conditions. Crisp waxy petals that are easily dressed for exhibition.  Also good in pots and can be grown as a late for late October and November shows from a March root and mid June stop. Perhaps slightly smaller blooms than the parent.

U.K. Regional Stopping guide
The dates we choose for stopping our chrysanths can never be guaranteed to produce flowers on a specific date for a specific show, weather conditions and other factors (such as garden aspect, location, cultural routine etc) will all play a part in influencing speed of plant development following the stop. The following information relates to stopping dates for producing blooms for Shows during the first half of September and are offered as a start point for new growers. Adjustments should be made for later or earlier shows.
