Cultural Guide from Roger Brownbridge for 3rd Crown blooms

Root mid February

Stop April 25/June 7/ July 10 (Golden), July 14 (parent), July 18 (Bronze)

Final pot 10"

Due to the fact that I am attempting to get Florentines later than the norm then counting down is done quickly since potentially petal count is less. After each stop when the breaks are around 3" long then I come down to 2, and flower at 2 up.

Adjust your own final stop to give a bud in the last days of August.

When the third stop is just coming away give 2 higher nitrogen feeds to give this late lateral a boost.

All Florentines take feed - the Bronze less than the other two.

As regards bloom feed they respond to a balanced liquid feed every 5-7 days from one third development if the plant has capacity.

U.K. Regional Stopping guide
The dates we choose for stopping our chrysanths can never be guaranteed to produce flowers on a specific date for a specific show, weather conditions and other factors (such as garden aspect, location, cultural routine etc) will all play a part in influencing speed of plant development following the stop. The following information relates to stopping dates for producing blooms for Shows during the first half of September and are offered as a start point for new growers. Adjustments should be made for later or earlier shows.
