Strong vegetative growth
June is a relatively quiet month, the plants are making strong vegetative
growth and supplementary liquid feeding is given every five to seven days.
I use several different liquid feeds depending on weather and plant
condition - a balanced feed 1-0-1 (equal nitrogen and potash, no
phosphates), a high nitrogen feed 3-0-1, and also a nitrogen only feed.
Depending on the weather, I
remove the top two of glass from the sides of the greenhouse where the
Chempak Rose family is being grown. I believe this helps air flow and
slightly reduces the temperature in the greenhouse.
June allows time to get the
plot tidy and just enjoy seeing the plants develop.
